Unless they're going to the help room with their testing device, students should not have anything with them except a drink and snack. (Away students may also bring an ID.) Students might also take an unscheduled break, during which they can use the restroom or go to the help room.

How to Request ADHD Accommodations. The easiest way to request SAT Accommodations is simply to speak to your school's SSD (Services for Students with Disabilities) coordinator. This coordinator will already know the process for applying for accommodations and will take charge of the process.

If your child already has an IEP or 504 plan, it's much easier to request ACT, SAT, or AP test accommodations. In this case, the student has a diagnosis, and the school should have a detailed, well-documented record of how this student's needs have been accommodated in the past.

Avoid candy, such as Snickers bars and jelly beans. Even some granola bars can be too high in sugar. Do not drink soda (pop) or any very sugary drink. Don't drink so much that you'll have to take a bathroom break before your scheduled breaks above.

To submit a request for accommodations without going through the school, the family will need to fill out the paper Student Eligibility Form and provide documentation.
