Aunt Lou here.
Growing up, we were a meat and potatoes family. This recipe combines two of my favorites…scalloped potatoes and ham steak! Mom always made ham steak with fried potatoes (and it is so good!), and I love any kind of cheesy potatoes. So when I saw this, I knew that it would be a recipe we would love.
I was happily surprised with how easily this all came together. I sliced up the potatoes and onion right into the crock pot and it all came together in no time!
I also made an adjustment on the recipe. Since Ryder and I really love cheese, I added a little bit more to this recipe. And boy was it good!

Notes on Crock Pot Scalloped Potatoes and Ham
- I used myHamilton Beach Programmable Insulated Slow Cookerfor this recipe. It was a cinch to clean up (which is always a good thing when you are working with cheese!). Your favorite 5-6 quart slow cooker would work as well.

Simple, easy weeknight dinner with a surprise (at least it was for me) – the ham comes out very tender. I like ham, it’s easy to cook and versatile, but let’s admit it – it can be very dry! Not with this recipe though. Any extra potatoes are good with breakfast the next day.Reply
