Idea 1 – An Easter Baby shoot

If you have a little baby in the family don’t miss the opportunity to involve them in an Easter photo shoot. Your little cherubs captured on the camera will result in truly lovely pictures that grandma would love to hang on her wall!

Some ideas are to dress your baby in a bunny costume, put them in an Easter basket or wrap them in an easter blanket. And don’t forget, it’s not just about getting faces in your picture. Little details can give you the same feeling.

A good tip is not to clutter up the scene and use a plain background. A background with different objects, shapes and colours will just distract from the main part of the picture. Use a plain wall, floor or going outside to a field will do the job.

Idea 2 - Children at Easter

Taking pictures of children having fun during the Easter holiday is a simple but great idea. As Easter is in the season of spring, it’s good to organise the Easter photo shoot outside. A good tip, if you are going to have a photoshoot outside, is to try not to take pictures in the middle of the day under bright sunlight. The light will be too white, and your pictures may look washed out in places.

If you are to take pictures in the middle of the day, then try to take pictures in the shade or on a cloudy day as this will give you a softer light. Apart from that, stick to shooting at sunset or if you’re up early, take them at sunrise.

You can capture the interaction in playing, dancing, cooking, painting or any activity where kids will be having fun. Below are some Easter photography ideas of Children playing to get you inspired!

Idea 3 - Easter Food Photography

Easter baking is a really fun activity for the whole family to get involved in. Cupcakes, cookies and anything chocolate are all good ideas for cooking at Easter. Photograph the process from the beginning to the end result. Even the messy parts can look good in a photograph!

Idea 4 – Family Easter Photoshoot

Easter is the holiday that brings the whole family together. While all of you are gathered in one place, it might be a good idea to organize a family Easter photoshoot. My tip here is to do the photo shoot outside. Go for a walk, find a nice place in the woods or fields and capture those special moments between you and your family.

Idea 5 – Easter Flat Lay

Flat Lay Photography by definition is a photograph taken from directly above looking down on usually products or food. It gives a bird’s eye view of what it is your photographing and is an extremely popular genre of photography on social media.

For Easter flat lay photography, the first thing you need is to think of a theme or feeling you want to achieve. A good thing to photograph during easter is obviously easter eggs. It is good to set out your products in a well-balanced order. In photography, this is called composition and getting this right is really important to make any photography look good. For more in-depth knowledge on composition in photography click here.

A good tip is to leave space for graphics if you want them. Adding graphics to flay lay photographs is a great way to add to the story of the picture and place it in a particular time and/or place.
