Easy Toffee Fruit Dip Recipe (1)

Do you love Caramel Apples? Forget about the mess of making caramel. Made with brown sugar, toffee bits and paired with tart apples this easy to make dip tastes just like caramel apples. This apple dip is addictive! Double the recipe because your guests will keep coming back for more. Serve this perfect dip with apple slices. How to Make Toffee Dip with Cream Cheese and Toffee Bits

Easy Toffee Fruit Dip Recipe (2)

Make your own caramel apple dip without making caramel! This sweet apple toffee dip is a cross between The Dulce de Leche Dip and Caramel Frosting. I use the Heath English Toffee Bits (also known as Bits O’ Brickle) in this recipe. They are easy to find at most grocery stores with the other baking chips. Just make sure you grab the toffee bits without chocolate for this recipe. This sweet cream cheese toffee apple dip is tangy, and full of caramel notes-exactly what you’d want to pair with tart, crisp Granny Smith apples.

EASY TOFFEE APPLE DIP INGREDIENT LIST-full printable recipe below in recipe card

  • 1 (8 ounce) cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup light brown sugar, packed
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 (8 ounce) bag Heath English Toffee Bits (without chocolate)

CREAMY TOFFEE APPLE DIP INSTRUCTIONS-MAKE THE DIP THE DAY BEFORE TO ALLOW THE SUGARS TO DISSOLVE

  1. In a medium bowl, add the cream cheese, sugars, and vanilla.
  2. Beat with a hand mixer until combined and creamy.
  3. Fold in crunchy toffee bits.
  4. Serve with sliced fresh apples.
  5. Store in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

HELP! MY DIP IS GRAINY!

There’s an easy solution to a grainy dip. The dip needs time to marinate. What do I mean by that? Well, The sugars (brown sugar and white sugar) need time to absorb the moisture from the cream cheese. This allows the granules to dissolve. Allowing for a creamy delicious toffee dip.

What to Serve With Toffee Dip

This delicious Toffee Apple Dip is named that for a reason. The sweetness of the dip pairs perfectly with the tartness of apples but there are also a few other options you could add to the mix.

  • Vanilla Wafers
  • Pretzel Rods
  • Pecan Sandies
  • Fresh Cherries
  • Fresh Strawberries
  • Graham Crackers

WHAT ARE TOFFEE BITS?

Easy Toffee Fruit Dip Recipe (3)

A crunchy caramel toffee that has been crushed into bits. I use the Heath English Toffee Bits (also called Bits O’Brickle). They are easy to find at most grocery stores with the other baking chips. Just make sure you grab the toffee bits WITHOUT the milk chocolate.

ENJOY CRISP FALL APPLES

Easy Toffee Fruit Dip Recipe (4)

Fall is apple season. I have tons of apple dessert recipes From SKILLET APPLE STRUSEL PIE, APPLE BUTTER CHEESECAKE BARS, ALL AMERICAN APPLE PIE to SEMI HOMEMADE COUNTRY CARAMEL APPLE DUMPLINGS and MORE!

But sometimes you want to enjoy those crisp Fall apples outside of a baked good. That’s where this Apple Dip Recipe comes in.

HOW TO MAKE REDUCED-SUGAR TOFFEE DIP

While there is no way of making this dip sugar free (short of removing the toffee bits) you can reduce the sugar by quite a lot simply by substituting full sugar for sugar substitute. My FAVORITE sugar substitute is Swerve. The sugar substitute is offered in several forms. Granulated sugar, brown sugar, and powdered sugar. All measure cup for cup and have a nice sweet taste. Also reduced the fat with low fat cream cheese.

TOFFEE DIP ADDITIONS AND ALTERATIONS

Although I absolutely love this easy cream cheese apple dip recipe, and enjoy it as a delicious treat or afterschool snack, there’s no harm in taking the base recipe and creating new sweet dip recipes. Staying on the notes of caramel flavors in this dip recipe, I went the candy bar route. What goes good with caramel? Well…just about anything, which leaves the options wide open.

CARAMEL CENTER: Create an ooey-gooey caramel middle! Spoon half the homemade fruit dip into a serving dish, add a layer of homemade caramel or store bought caramel (like dulce de leche). Spoon remaining cream cheese fruit dip on top. Your guests will love the gooey surprise center.

CHOPPED PRETZELS: Cut the sweetness of this dip with a touch of salt.

CARAMEL DRIZZLE: Drive the caramel notes even further. Use caramel ice cream topping or melted Dulce de Leche.

CARAMEL CHIPS: Chop a few chips into the same size as the toffee bits to add another layer of texture and flavor.

BUTTERSCOTCH CHIPS: Chop a few chips into the same size as the toffee bits to add another layer of texture and flavor.

CHOPPED NUTS: Add a few nuts to the dip. I like to add chopped peanuts.

CHOCOLATE CHIPS: If you want to really drive the “candy bar” idea add mini chocolate chips or chop the chips the same size as the toffee bits.
