How many wishes does it usually take to get a 5-star? ›

The pity system in Genshin Impact operates as follows: for a limited character banner, players need to make 10 wishes to receive a guaranteed 4-star character and 90 wishes for a guaranteed 5-star character.

To make the most out of your Wishes, you should consider saving them up until you have at least ten. Using ten at once will guarantee at least one four-star result. By following this guide, you should have enough to make at least 40 Wishes, which translates to at least 4 four-star rewards.

This is a decent sum, meaning players will definitely want to save up, especially if they are still on their 50/50 without a guarantee. If players are completely certain that they want a character and don't want to risk a 50/50, they can save up to 28800 Primogems, which will give them a 100% chance to get a character.

Similar to other gacha titles, Genshin Impact also has a Pity System that is usually capped at 90 Wishes for a guaranteed 5-Star in the banner. However, players who are gunning for specific 5-Star characters need to take note that the game does have a 50-50 System for its character acquisitions.

A normal wish gives you a 0.06% chance (6 in 1,000) of getting a 5 star. However after 75 wishes your odds increase significantly (around 20–30%), and if you reach 90 wishes you are guaranteed a 5 star. So they are rarer than 4 stars, but not exceptionally rare.

Ten pull and single pull doesn't affect your luck, it's really just personal preference. If you are really short on primogems, do single pulls to prevent wasting your wishes. For example, you might get a 5* on 61 pity, then you've wasted 9 wishes (1440 primogems). However, this takes a long time.

It is speculated that 11:11 wishes are only valid if we coincidentally come across that time.
