Rose Ice Cubes in Rosé — DIY DARLING (2024)

Yes that's right, ice cube roses IN rosé! I used this DIY for the Whimsical Bohemian Backyard Baby Showerso I wanted to keep within a similar vibe. Roses were perfect for this, but I imagine you could use any type of flower.

I used some trial and error with this one. I was inspired by a photo I'd seen somewhere online but couldn't seem to find directions.... so I made them up!

HOW TO DIY

Roses

Red solo cups

Scissors

Water

1. Cut the stems of the roses up to the base. Gently spread the petals out, starting from the outside and working in. You want the flower to be as wide as possible.

2. Using your scissors, cut about 2" off the top of the red solo cup. This will make storage in your freezer a whole lot easier.

3. Pour about 1" of water into the bottom of a red solo cup. Drop in the spread-apart rose. The water will NOT completely cover the rose at this point - that is a good thing! If there is too much water, your flower will float to the top. Repeat for however many rose ice cubes you want to make. Freeze overnight (or approximately 8 hours).

4. Now that you've frozen the bottom half of the roses, essentially anchoring them down, you can pour in the remainder of the water so that the entire flower is covered. Put back in the freezer for another 5-6 hours.

5. After freezing is complete, use your scissors to cut the red solo cups, revealing the rose ice cube. Place decoratively around bottles of rosé.
