Hey Guys,

new to the forum and picking up my guzzi v7 classic tomorrow.

How long does the engine typically last? What's high/low etc in terms if mileage.
Assume it's been looked after well and serviced properly. Is 15k high mileage for this
type of engine?

Many thanks

Traditionally Guzzi engines last a very long time. Many would say that 15k miles is just about run in nicely! There's lots of very high mileage Guzzis out there and I know some owners are concerned the V7 mileometer can't read higher than 99,999 so at that point they will have to buy a new speedo! With regular servicing and oil changes the engines are as indestructible as any.

I have just about 12K on mine , I consider it just broken in. I wouldn't bother even thinking about it until well over 50,000 miles. Then the chassis starts to need help. Modern motorcycle engines last a long time nowadays.
As for mileage, mine has averaged 53 mpg since new. Low 45 mpg, High, 59 mpg. Your mileage may vary!

My 2004 Breva 750 now reads just shy of 20,000 miles (14,000 of which went on in the last 12 months). It just keeps running better and better. I expect it to outlast me by a long time.

The throttle response (aka "fueling") is absolute perfection (thanks to Todd's reflash) and makes riding the little critter a true delight. My all-time favorite motorbike - of many!

I trust it enough to be planning a 2,000 mile tour for May, which I have detailed over at the "other" place:
