PORT ST. LUCIE— More than 500 full-time jobs are expected from the construction of a 1.1-million-square-foot Amazon fulfillment center.
Here's what we know:
• Construction of the $100 million facility will be on 110 acres east of Interstate 95 and south of Midway Road at Midway Business Park.
• Construction is expected to take 14 months and should be completed by early fall 2022. The project, once completed, will be the largest building in Port St. Lucie, according to Maureen Saltzer, director of communications and outreach for the Economic Development Council of St. Lucie County.

• Salaries will start at $15 an hour, and will include benefits such as medical, dental and life insurance. There's no timetable for when hiring will begin, but it could be up to a year away, Saltzer said. Those interested can go to Amazondelivers.jobsto sign up for job alerts.
• Amazon has created more than 52,000 jobs in Florida, according to Amazon.com. The company currently operates seven fulfillment and sortation centers, 16 delivery stations and 29 Whole Foods Markets in the state. There are four Amazon Hub Locker+ locations in Florida.
• Amazon has invested more than $9.5 billion in Florida since 2010.
