Q&A allows you to pose a question to your fans and add it to your episode. Your listeners drop their answers directly in the Spotify mobile app to join the conversation.
Listener responses are private by default, but you can publish your favorite ones for everyone to enjoy in the Spotify mobile app.
Creating a Q&A
On web:
Go to the Interact tab.
Click + Add Q&A next to the episode you'd like to add a Q&A to.
Type your question, then hit Save.
On the mobile app:
Go to Your Podcast and select the episode you’d like to add a Q&A to.
Tap Interactthen Ask a question.
Type your question, then hit Save.
Your question should appear to listeners on your episode page on the Spotify mobile app within a few minutes.
Responses are private to you, but you can choose to publish your favorite ones for all your listeners to see.
Published responses appear on your episode page and in the Now Playing view on the Spotify mobile app. Your 5 most recently published responses are pinned on your episode page. If you publish more than 5 responses, the rest can be viewed by tapping View all.
On web:
Go to the Interact tab.
Click a Q&A.
All responses appear under the Private tab, and responses you’ve published can be found under Published.
Clicking the publish icon makes that response visible to all your listeners on Spotify.
Go to Your Podcast and tap the episode you’ve added a Q&A to.
Tap Interactthen See replies.
Tap the publish icon to make the response visible to all your listeners on Spotify.
To block the user from sending more responses, tap the 3 dots then Block user.
To unpublish a response, select Hide response.
Editing or deleting a Q&A
You can ask one question per episode.
You can edit your Q&A if it hasn't received any responses:
On web, head to your Q&A in the Interacttab and click the pencil icon.
On the mobile app, head to your Q&A, tap the 3 dots, then Edit Q&A.
If you have had a response, you’ll need to delete the Q&A, then create a new one:
On web, head to your Q&A in the Interacttab and click the trash icon.
On the mobile app, head to your Q&A, tap the 3 dots, then Delete.
Default Q&A
To help jumpstart the conversation and make it easier for you to collect listener feedback, we’ve added a default question - "What did you think of this episode?"
This Q&A is turned on by default, so all future episodes you upload to Spotify have this question attached.
To customize your default question or turn off this setting on web:
Go to the Interact tab.
Click the gear icon above the Q&A column.
Edit the question and click Save, or toggle off Automatically include a Q&A on all new episodes to turn it off.
To turn off this setting on the Spotify for Podcasters mobile app:
Go to Your Podcast.
Tap the 3 dots then Podcast settings.
Toggle off Include Q&A automatically on all new episodes.
The new setting is applied to all future episodes you publish to Spotify.
Getting listeners to engage with your Q&A
Here are some tips to get more of your audience engaging with your Q&A:
Promote your Q&A and share your favorite replies across your social media channels.
Call out your Q&A in the intro or outro of your episode.
Publish your favorite responses so your listeners feel seen when they interact.

Go to the Interact tab. Click + Add Poll next to the episode you'd like to add a poll to. Type your question and between 2 and 7 answers for listeners to pick from.
Make sure: Your device is supported for Spotify and up-to-date. Your device has at least 250MB of available memory. Your firewall isn't blocking Spotify (desktop only)
If you find yourself on a specific episode, tap the thumbnail to reach the show's page. Tap the rating icon underneath the podcast's description. If you don't see it, tap the three vertical dots to open a menu with a “Rate show” option. Drag your finger or tap on one of the five stars to leave a rating.
You can try out the new Song Psychic feature by heading to spotify.com/songpsychic on your phone and picking from a range of premade questions. The app will then attempt to answer your question with a song. When I asked what I should have for lunch, I got “Slime” by Shygirl.
Spotify says the move comes as Indian market has matured now and that the recent changes might encourage users to get a Premium subscription. Spotify music streaming service has decided to lock certain features behind paywall in an attempt to increase Premium subscribers in India.
Unstable or weak internet connections can also cause songs to appear greyed out. It's recommended to use a Wi-Fi connection for the best streaming experience. If using Cellular Data, ensure that Spotify is allowed to use it.
Why does Spotify play recommended songs? Spotify may opt to play suggested songs to help expose users to new artists with similar songs within their Spotify playlists. It's also in their best interest to introduce users to new songs to keep them active on the app and engaged within their Spotify account.
On Spotify, adding a track to the queue means that track will be playing next. Using this feature, you can select which songs play next and make sure you're listening to the tracks you love.
When Spotify exploits, it's using the information it knows about you, the user. It takes into account your music listening history, which songs you've skipped, what playlists you've made, your activity on the platform's social features, and even your location.
In the case of having bots on your account, it can sometimes be detected when the rate of saves is much lower than your rate of listens. Approximately, an artist account that does not have bots will have a saved ratio of between 6 and 10%, while a botted account does not exceed 3%.
Spotify gives one stream to your track if it is played for at least 30 seconds. This means that if a listener goes beyond this mark, you earn a stream. And if they decide to replay the song again and cross the 30-second threshold, another stream is added. Interestingly, muted song plays don't count.
