What’s the difference between ‘regulated’ and ‘accredited’?

Put simply, qualifications are regulated and TEFL providers are accredited. When you’re on the lookout for a TEFL course that’s right for you, it’s important to find out if the course provider is accredited, the qualification you will receive is regulated, and who by!

When the TEFL provider is accredited by a recognised institution, you’ll have reassurance of quality training. Pair that with an Ofqual regulated TEFL Qualification and DEAC-approved you’ll know your hard-earned TEFL certificate is recognised by schools and employers across the world.

i-to-i are accredited by the ODLQC (Open & Distance Learning Quality Council) who are an independent body, giving you the best start to your TEFL journey. You’re likely to find companies and courses that are accredited, but there aren’t many who also have regulated qualifications – we’re one of them!
